Opening lecture Intersectionality in Practice: Fatima Daas on Speaking Up
Fatima Daas zal de tweede editie van het Tashweesh Festival aftrappen met een gesprek over haar ervaringen als jonge immigrant, moslima en queer schrijfster in Frankrijk. Kom deelnemen aan een discussie over (on)zichtbaarheid en de specifieke druk van de samenleving op lichamen van zogenaamde rassen of genders, als ze al niet door de media worden geëssentialiseerd.

Fatima Daas identificeert zich als moslima, feministe en lesbienne en is goed onderweg om de stem van haar generatie te worden. Ze groeide op in de Parijse banlieue Clichy-sous-Bois met haar ouders en zussen. Als jongste is zij de enige van het gezin die in Frankrijk geboren is. Op de middelbare school schreef ze haar eerste teksten. Haar debuut 'La Petite Dernière' kwam uit in 2020 en is nu vertaald in negen talen.
