As We Were Moving Ahead Occasionally We Saw Brief Glimpses Of Beauty is a performance project where the boundaries of body and space are playfully blurred through the use of video.
Gaëtan Rusquet questions the confines of inside/outside and intimacy/extimacy by hijacking technologies that enter in our daily life as tools to stage ourselves: webcams, smartphones, gopros's, selfies, etc. Where does our skin stop and the camera start? Where does the body end and the projection of that body begin? Through an alienating device we can experience the sensation of constantly swallowing or being swallowed. By a person, a community, a system, a technology.
