Tarab Machine combines trance-like grooves inspired by jazz-fusion and prog-rock with the lyricism and breath-controlled language of Maqam music. After one year of playing at a lot of Brussels showcase events, they have become a true tastemakig sound of the city. Their first release is a treat for those who love to make traditions move. And dont't forget the Beurscafé is made for dancing, too <3

Tarab Machine is an ensemble that fuses the hypnotic pulse of Middle Eastern music with the raw energy of modern rock and the freedom of jazz improvisation. Anchored by the voice and oud of Hussein, the group builds bold bridges between traditions, blending haunting maqam melodies, driving grooves, and shimmering textures. Their genre-bending approach and powerful live performances have quickly earned them a place on the Belgian scene. Despite being a newly formed ensemble, they have already appeared at major events, including the Human’City Festival for BelRefugees (opening for Manu Chao), Plazey Festival in Koekelberg, and Brussels Jazz Weekend, among others. In autumn 2026, they will release their debut EP, featuring the captivating voice of Tunisian singer Imen Al Amouri. Together, they transform tarab — the Arabic word for musical ecstasy — into a living, electrified experience.
