On his latest full album Café Paradiso, Mykki Blanco is completely reborn, trading the persona-driven theatrics of his previous releases for something more interior and exacting. It’s a series of vignettes that speak to the lives lived inside the concrete jungle, from Paris to New York and back. Blanco and his collaborators purr about hanging out, hooking up, and dancing the night away under the street lights over a sultry, nostalgic groove that feels both familiar and slightly unreal. Resisting the logic of escalation or destination, Café Paradiso lingers in transitional spaces — the solitary meal, the late-night bar, the airport terminal — where time stretches and the self becomes momentarily unmoored, in a loving embrace of perpetual movement.

Dida presents new work, building on his latest album QUEUES. New songs, new ideas, and people who, for various reasons, end up on stage. The music moves somewhere between pop, detours, and decisions that only make sense in retrospect. Some things are finished. Others don’t seem particularly bothered by that yet.
