In 1926 (!!!) danst Mary Wigman voor het eerst haar revolutionaire Hexentanz: danseres voor het eerst ook choreograaf. En vollenbak oerdrift. Danya Hammoud (LB) herinterpreteert deze expressionistische parel vanuit haar eigen ervaringen en context. Ze komt uit Libanon, studeerde theater in Beirut en daarna dans in Parijs. “Door de dialoog met deze heksendans kon ik de figuur van de heks in vraag stellen, en mij buigen over een extreme en marginale toestand van het lichaam waar tegenstrijdige krachten aan het werk zijn: vruchtbaarheid en vernieling.” Krachtige dans, ontroerend in zijn eenvoud en schoonheid.
