From the rooftop, the river to the sea.
Open air cinema, general assembly, food, a drink on us, and music — to raise funds for families in the West Bank, whose homes & livelihoods have been destroyed by you-know-who.
An ‘Estafette’ is a message carried from hand to hand, like a shared responsibility, a call for global solidarity. All artists participating in this event have agreed to forego their fee. The entirety of the budget will thus be donated. At the entry, there will be the option to donate freely as you feel.

general assembly: the responsibilities of culture in the eyes of repression
Looking back and forward to E4P's actions and the role culture, the cultural sector and (we as) cultural workers are taking on locally during the still ongoing genocide in Palestine. During the assembly the doors stay open, everyone is welcome to join.
open air cinema
Two short films that deal with displacement and the longing for a home. Through poetry, song, and a distinctly cinematic style, these films depict the experience of being a newcomer, being exiled, fleeing, or just wanting to leave. How does one appropriate the feeling of being at home somewhere? The films show a fundamental and universal search for belonging.
Ma'loul fête sa destruction (Michel Khleifi, 1985)
For a long time, the original inhabitants of the Galilean village of Ma’loul, destroyed by Israel after the 1948 War, were only allowed to visit their old village once a year, on Israel’s Day of Independence. The film follows them on that day and reveals a world of painful memories and the villagers’ profound determination to cling to their ancestral land. Village elders recall the destruction of both their property and harmonious way of life, as youngsters scramble to savour and absorb their forbidden heritage in a single, precious day. lntercut with these scenes, a teacher in a Palestinian classroom explains to his teenage students the history of Palestine, the Holocaust and the creation of Israel.
Michel Khleifi (Palestine, 1950) is a Palestinian filmmaker who has been based in Brussels since 1970. Here he studied at INSAS, and has also been teaching there since many years. In 1987, Michel made film history with his first fiction feature Wedding in Galilee, when it became the first Palestinian film ever to be screened at the Cannes festival and won the International Critics' Prize there. He is known as a pioneer who brought Palestinian perspectives to the big screen around the world.
Branden (Lisette Ma Neza, 2024)
Branden is a collective poem about the burning of home countries, about the fire and the smoke of armed conflict which transforms humans into refugees. A poetic conversation with five women from different diasporas: about leaving the place they were born and (never really) arriving. An ode to displaced women.
Lisette Ma Neza (Netherlands, 1997) is a poet with a camera. Her artistic practice is a constant attempt to translate herself and others. She transmutes the lives and feelings of the displaced, survivors of great violence, of Africans in Europe, of diasporas, of women... This research results in poetic essays, spoken word, film and theatre. Lisette has also been Brussels' first official city poet since 2024.
