NÍdia & Valentina create hybrid percussive dance music that feels so deeply ancestral yet sounds so fresh and futuristic, it just may be the final proof that time is but a silly little illusion. If you didn't catch this truly avant-garde badass duo at Woodblocks Festival last summer, here's another chance <3

Double trouble support with a first time collab-experiment by local punks with a penchant for neo-classical post-club romanticism Ann Eysermans & Obsequeen.

NÍdia & Valentina
In September 2024, Paris’ Latency released 'Estradas', an electrifying dance music album by multi-instrumentalist Valentina Magaletti and Afro-Portuguese beat-maker Nídia. Estradas (“roads” in Portuguese), born from the Sicilian heat and refined under English rain, transcends cultural and environmental barriers, showcasing the duo’s rhythmic expertise and connection through intricate beats and infectious melodies. The album celebrates the universal language of music, immersing listeners in a world where rhythm reigns supreme and movement is inevitable.

Valentina’s inventive approach to percussion, incorporating marimbas, contact microphones, and found objects, allows her to seamlessly traverse alternative and mainstream music landscapes. Feeling just as comfortable performing behind a delicate ceramic kit as she does hammering out motorik rhythms, her creative take on percussion has resulted in a diverse discography and many interesting collaborations – from the club to the orchestra, from huge festivals to world renowned museums. For her, playing the drums is akin to an unfolding narrative: stories that eschew spoken language in favour of rhythm, pulse, and vibration.

Ann Eysermans & Obsequeen
Brace yourself for an unprecedented experiment with this spontaneous and first collaboration between multi-instrumentalist Ann Eysermans and producer Obsequeen. One of the most unforeseeable musicians of our scene, Ann Eysermans has been paving the way for neo-classical, concrete and avant-gardist electronic music. She meets Obsequeen (formerly known as Obsequies) the ever-morphing maverick and deconstructed, post-club music torch carrier. A pair of sensitive punks with a penchant for romanticism, they deploy their respective practice in this re-invention of their own artistic inspirations. Not sure what will happen… But one thing is certain, both artists will indulge in playful yet honest conversation with the will to take a risk.
