Inspired by Louise Bourgeois’ motive of the dagger child, Dagger Us is a test of the parent-child relationship, one that desires love with the threat of murder.
The new performance by Soetkin Demey & Tibo Vandenborre delves specifically into the daughter-father relationship. A relationship which, within a family, holds the biggest differences when we think of age, gender and procreation. This conflictual relationship inspired a more general approach around madness, rage, revenge and fear. Via the conflict between a father and a daughter the makers want to research the conflict between a man and a woman in a love couple.
