This Brussels-based, Swiss-Angolan DJ is one of the driving forces behind the collectives Bledarte and Leaving Living Dakota. Her sets combine music from Africa, South America and the Caribbean with rap and techno vibes.
Belgian born and Berlin-based DJ, Luz is the cofounder of Room4 Resistance, a queer femme / non-binary forward collective focused on community-building and creating safer space & visibility for underrepresented artists in dance music. Luz has collected records since early childhood and started Djing in 2012 with a focus on building narratives through music across genres such as Detroit techno and electro, UK Bass and techno, Deep techno, experimental, left field and more in between.
Nkisi is the pseudonym of Melika Ngombe Kolongo, whose activities as a producer, live musician, DJ and curator are channels for an ongoing inquiry into sound as a tool of communication beyond the purely lingual. Meshing hard techno and gabber beats with pan-African drum rhythms and pairing IDM electronics with juke house, Nkisi is a truly unique talent defying genre classification. djmag.com, Soundcloud
Risen to prominence from Lisbon's underground scene as a resident of mina's infamous raves, marum has crafted a unique and hybrid artistic practice: relentless rave DJ and community utopian-researcher. Their sets are unashamed worship sessions of hypnotic, acidic techno, cavernous industrial beats with elements of EBM, trance and aerial drones, taking influence from film scores, minimalist composers and musique concrète. Parallel to DJing, marum is also a visual and performance artist, curator, and writer, working with the experimental platform XenoEntities Network and Rabbit Hole, focusing on gender, queer and feminist theory, technology and digital culture, electronic music and club politics.
Perpetually obsessed with proving the futility of binaries, Lou Drago is drawn to the spaces between analogue and synthesised sounds. In their sets Lou Drago aims to provide a space for contemplation and introspection, offering a pause from the anxiety of neoliberalism through ambient, strange and relaxing sounds. They aim to summon imagery of speculative queer and postgendered futurities through evoking sci-fi, space, drone and other ambiences. Drago hosts a monthly show on Cashmere Radio based in Berlin called Transience, each time inviting a different artist to respond to their concept to create an hour of anxiety relief from hetero-patriarchial systems of oppression.
