Xiu Xiu is the name under which multi-instrumentalist Jamie Stewart from Los Angeles releases his wonderfully nerve-racking and shamelessly personal musical work into the world. Since 2002, Stewart – together with a revolving-door line-up of band members – has been exploring the boundaries of pop, rock and noise with a heavy smattering of electronica. The common thread pervading his palette of sounds is the brutal honesty that never fails to break the hearts of Xiu Xiu’s loyal fanbase (in the best possible way). For his live shows in 2019 he will be accompanied by Thor Harris (Shearwater) and Jordan Gieger (Minus Story).

Composer-producer John Bence from Bristol will be opening the evening with a unique mix of raw melancholy and merciless electro so epic it’s almost church-like. “I can’t explain the feeling I get when I’m up on stage. It feels like an out-of-body experience performing this work”.
